Manjhar Kund is another name for the Manjhar K waterfall that is located near the district headquarters of the Rohtas district situated in Bihar. Manjhar Kund is located near Sasaram and is said to be one of the best waterfalls that you will see in India.
History Of Sasaram
Sasaram is one of the oldest cities of India and has seen the legacy of Jagjivan Ram Babu, Shershah Suri and Sahastrabahu come to life. In the earlier days, Sasaram was often referred to as the Vihar gateway. This was due to the pathway to the Gaya and Nalanda area. It is said that Mahatma Buddha had walked along this path on his way to achieve enlightenment in Gaya. Apart from Manjhar Kund, Sasaram is also home to a number of historical and religious monuments. Some of the notable places located in Sasaram are the Fazalganj Commercial zone, Anandi place, the Tomb area, the New area, Lala Colony and Gauraxni.
To get to Sasaram you might have to take a train or bus. There is no airport in close vicinity to the city so you might want to reach Patna via Patna airport and then take a train from Patna to the city.
You can also choose to take the bus to Sasaram from Patna. This is a 3-hour journey and there are a number of buses available.
Sasaram is quite far from the main city and it’s about 158km away from Patna by road.

Manjhar Kund is a waterfall that is situated in the city of Sasaram in Bihar. This is an amazing waterfall that is responsible for generating electricity. The waterfall is famous for a fair that is organized near the banks of the fall. The fair is usually held around the time of Raksha Bandhan.

- Tomb of Sher Shah Suri – As the name suggests, the tomb of Sher Shah Suri commemorates the Emperor Sher Shah Suri. It is said that he founded the Suri Empire after defeating the Mughal Empire. His death was unfortunate as it was an accidental gunpowder explosion. The tomb is said to be built somewhere between 1540 and 1545.
- Tomb of Hasan Khan Suri – Hasan Khan Suri was the father of the great Sher Shah Suri. Since Bihar was the capital of the Suri Empire before they moved to Delhi, the tomb of Hasan Khan Suri was built here in his memory along with his son’s tomb.
