2. Baneswar Shiva Temple

If you are coming to Cooch Behar especially for this temple then it is highly advised to visit it during the month of Saavan. The temple is located at a distance of about 15 kilometres from Cooch Behar and is easily accessible. The major attraction near the temple is “Mohan” which houses turtles. There is also an interesting tradition in this temple, the pujaris here don’t leave the temple without taking a bath in the lake here.
3. Sagar Dighi
After you complete visiting all your tourist spots come to this place. This place is the perfect place of taking an evening walk and enjoy the sunset. The place is very well maintained and a large pond surrounds the area. If you walk near the place you would be coming across a lot of small eateries which serve really good food. If you want to click photographs at this temple you would need to pay a nominal fee of Rs. 25. It is maintained by the district administration and they have really done a commendable job. The temple is organized and on most of the days, you won’t come across a large crowd. If you are coming to Cooch Behar especially for seeing this temple then plan to come during the Rash Festival.
5. Gosanimari Rajput
The last place I would like to talk about is Gosanimari Rajput. This place was discovered a few years ago. If you are a person who loves history then you cannot think of a better place than this. When you come to this place you would notice the stone engravings and structures like water supply systems. It really makes you wonder about the intelligent architecture of that time. It is located at a distance of about 40 kilometres from the city of Cooch Behar and represents the Khem Dynasty. You will get to learn a lot about the “Pal Dynasty” of Bengal when you visit this place.
