Digha The Perfect Spot To Spend A Relaxing Weekend

So here are 7 things to do in Digha to make your trip a memorable one.

1. Stay at the beach during day

Now there are many people who have said that they decided to stay in their hotel rooms to avoid the scorching heat; they said that they preferred the hotel swimming pool over the beach. To whom I must say, that it is one of the worst decisions you have taken in your life. You can get the swimming pool at many places, but the Digha beach is just something else. Make sure you spend your valuable time at the beach during day time.

2. Don’t go for restaurants!

You are going to find many restaurants in Digha, I suggest don’t go for any of them. The reason for this is not that the hotels are not good or something like this; the food is extremely delicious. But the local shops are way better than these restaurants; if you hate fish then try the variety available at Digha; I am sure you will change your conception about fish and you will fall in love with it.

3. Visit neighbourhoods of the beach during evening

Make sure you take a walk around the neighborhoods, you will be astonished how beautiful this city is. Be it local people or market, it’s all so very perfect. Some scenes are very serene and soothing to one’s senses.

4. Go for local shopping!

Yes! Go for local shopping, there are two advantages to this; the first advantage is that you may find few things at a very cheap price which would have costed you a lot if it would have purchased from some mall or shop in the city. The second advantage is that you may find a few local things which you may not find it anywhere else.

5. Take a walk around the beach during night

You have no idea how beautiful Digha’s beach looks during the night. If you are going with your loved one, then make sure you take a walk around the beach. It is pretty windy out there, and the sound of the waves will make your day. If you are going with your friends, and you find a little idle time then just go and sit there alone; trust me, that lonely time will be one of the most cherished times of your life.

6. If lucky, attend a beach party

Now beach parties at Digha happen very rarely, basically it happens during festivals. If you are lucky and find a beach party being held, make sure you go and visit it. Beach parties are extremely entertaining, fishes on the grill, loud music and the sound of the waves will make your day!

7. Don’t get too drunk

To be very frank, 70% of the crowd who visits Digha, visit it for entertainment and alcohol. People get tired of their day to day lives, and plan to visit Digha on a Saturday morning and leave by Sunday evening. They want to be relaxed so they opt for alcohol, I will suggest don’t go for too much alcohol because what is the point of visiting a place if you are going to be high all the time and going to remember nothing about the trip?
