Maharana Jagat Singh was the ruler of the Mewar dynasty under whose supervision Lake Palace in Udaipur was constructed. The Lake Palace was something like amusement spot for the ruler settled in amidst of the lake.

The Lake Palace was named after the Mewar dynasty ruler, commonly known as Jag Niwas. Jagat Singh used to invest free moments on the Palace.  Later, on the Lake Pichola, he constructed his own Lake Palace. The Lake Palace was the four eye-catching lake island named Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir, and Arsivilas. To construct this palace, it took almost three years.

Later, Maharana Bhagwat Singh converted the palace into a romantic and lavish hotel. Hotel Lake Palace tied with the string of Taj Hotel’s palaces and Resorts in according to maintain the dignified heritage of hospitality.

The Lake Palace, situated on an island in Lake Pichola was constructed to serve as a royal summer palace. The palace is built up of white marble. The palace operating under the “Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces” banner is now considered as a luxury 5-star hotel.

Udaipur Lake Palace is a gem of brilliant architecture which vitrine white marble building with extraordinary terraces, gardens, fountains, and courtyards. The palace was designed by Didi contractor, an American artist.  Bhagwat Singh commissioned the conversion from place to a hotel.
