3. Diu Island, Gujarat

Spread over an area of around 32 sq km along with the lagoon of 4200 sq km Arabian sea, Lakshadweep, a set of 36 islands has amazed tourists with its stunning beauty. Its cottony white sand beaches, the turquoise blue water and profusely rich coral reef amazes tourists a lot and the place is a visual treat for the visitors.

These rocks which have formed an unusual hexagonal shape has now been listed as India’s one of the 26 Geological Monuments. The place somewhat resembles to Ireland’s famous Giant’s Causeway. 9. Munroe Islands, Kerala

Kerala, known as God’s very own country has one more jewel and that is Munroe. Formed with a set of 8 small-small islands, this non-commercial island is situated in Kollam at the meeting point of Kallada River and Ashtamudi Lake. The place is a paradise for wild life photographers and bird watcher because the place is visited by variety of migratory birds every year. 10. Islands of Cauvery River, Karnataka

Unlike other several islands which are located on remote locations, islands of cauvery river are situated on the national highway that connects 2 major cities of India, viz. Mysore and Bangalore. Cauvery river in Karnataka has formed three stunning islands namely Shivanasamudram, Nisargadhama and Srirangapatnam. The islands are easily accessible for tourists and hence are visited frequently.

11. Elephanta Island, Mumbai

Located in the Mumbai harbour, Elephanta island is one of the important tourist place in Mumbai which can be visited as a one-day trip. The place is widely known for the famous Elephanta caves which have been engraved from the rocks.

Rameshwaram or Pamban Island is known for its spirituality as well as its scenic location. A home to a big port for the period of British Era, Kavvyayi Island is widely known for its historic importance. Kavvyayi Kayal is a tiny island in one of the biggest backwater of Northern Kerala. The place is still a biggest ecosystem of North Kerala and is widely popular amongst the tourists, nationally as well as internationally.
