When we are talking about haunted places then Bhangar Fort has to be on top of the list. It is said to be one of the most spookiest places in India and there are many theories surrounding it. The most popular theory around the fort is that there was once a magician who felled in love with a local princess even when he knew that their match was not possible. He decided to cast a spell on the princess so that she surrenders herself to him but the princess came to know about the magician evil intentions. She found out a way to kill him but before she could he had casted a spell on the palace which caused its doom. It is definitely one of the most spookiest places in India as because the fort is promoted as a tourist spot but no one is allowed to visit it after sunset.

2.Kuldhara – Rajasthan
The second place to make it to the list of 6 most spookiest places in India happens to be Kuldhara which is located in Rajasthan. It is a deserted village which is said to be haunted and has been abandoned since 1800s. The village is said to carry a curse by the then living villagers here, who lived there for over 7 centuries. The tale around the village is that, there was once a minister whose name was Salim Singh. Once he had visited this village and felt in love with the chieftain daughter. He threatened the villagers that if they do not let him marry her then he will impose heavy taxes on them. In order to save the girl’s honor, the villagers decided to abandon and migrate to someplace else. The interesting fact is that no one saw them leave or had any idea where they went; they simply vanished. They casted a spell on the village, cursing anyone who tried to take over the land.

3.D’Souza Chawl Mahim
D’Souza Chawl Mahim is another place which is said to be one of the spookiest places in India. It is located in Mumbai and the tale surrounding this place that there was once a woman who fell in a well and died crying for help. May be this is the reason some people have reported to have seen a women wandering around the well and nearby area.

4.The Shaniwarwada Fort
Shaniwarwada Fort situated in Pune is famous for two things, one is its architectural brilliance and the second is because of his paranormal activities. The story around the fort is that, a young prince was mercilessly murdered here due to which his spirit haunts the place when nightfall comes. It is said that the paranormal activities are at its peak during a full moon night. It is also said that people have heard screams coming from the fort. Many locals literally camp here at night to hear the shrieking of the prince. It is one of the most spookiest places in India so visit this place at your own risk

Dumas Beach is located in Surat and is famous for its black sand and mysterious events. There have been many cases surrounding the beach and many mysterious things have said to be taken place here. By mysterious things I mean people hearing whispers, people disappearing in night and similar stories. It is also said that many people have lost their lives exploring the beauty of this beach. It is said that Dumas beach was a Hindu burial ground therefore it is a resting place for the tortured souls. When you visit here you would be receiving warnings of not to cross a certain line at the beach since there have been many cases where people have disappeared and were never found again. National Library is located in the city of Joy, Kolkata. But ironically this is not a place where all of the visitors gets “joy”. National Library is the sixth place to be included in the list of most spookiest places in India and after the cases which have occurred here it seems rightfully so. The library has a rich collection of books but apart from this the library also has many haunted stories surrounding it. At the time of its renovation; 12 labors lost their lives in an accident. There have also been stories regarding a student who lost his life unnaturally when he was searching for books. It is also said that the footsteps of the governor’s wife can still be heard.
