3. Rohtang Pass

Thanks to Bollywood Manali’s popularity is increasing day by day. Remember the song “Yeh Ishq Haye” from the movie jab we met starring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor? That song was shot here in Rohtang Pass. I am sure you must have watched youth’s favorite movie “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” which starred Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapoor if you haven’t watched it yet I would recommend you to watch it because a majority of the portion of the movie has been shot in Manali and the director has did a very good job in capturing Manali’s beauty. It is located at a height of around 4000metres above sea level and is 50 kilometers away from Manali. I would recommend you to visit Rohtang Pass in the month of October or May; the weather is perfect during this time. It is closed during the winter so plan your trip accordingly. Rohtang pass also offers activities like mountain biking, snow scooter and skiing so make sure you enjoy these thrilling activities.

4. Solang Valley

Ever wished to see snow covered mountains or glaciers? If yes then Solang Valley is the place where you want to be. The valley has slopes, so if you like skiing then you would definitely have a good time at Solang Valley. You should visit this place in winter you will see that the place is surrounded all over by the kids and it is some kind of snow paradise. Don’t feel sad if you visit Solang Valley during summer because then skiing is replaced with activities like paragliding, parachuting, horse riding and zorbing. It is just 13kms away from Manali and lies between Beas Kund and Solang village. This place definitely deserves a spot in the list of 7 places you should visit in Kullu Manali.

5. Vashist Hot Water Springs and Temples

Vashist is a small village located a distance of about 3 kilometers from Manali. The village is very popular due to the natural hot springs and temples. Pyramidal stone temple (dedicated to sage Vashist) is one of the most prominent temples in the village. You will find the locals and tourists taking a dip in the spring because it is said to have medicinal properties. One good thing here is that the bathing tanks are separate for men and women so you can easily bathe without feeling uncomfortable. It really gets crowded as the day goes by; to avoid the rush I would recommend you to visit this place early in the morning.

The sixth place to make it to the list of 7 places you should visit in Kullu Manali is Club House. Club house is located just 2kms away from Manali and is maintained by HPTDC – Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. If you get tired of travelling and just want to spend the time indoors then you should definitely visit Club house. It offers many indoor games like table tennis, carom, skating and karate. It also has an in-house restaurant which offers tasty snacks and beverages.

7. Nehru Kund

The last place to make it to the list of 7 places you should visit in Kullu Manali is Nehru Kund. For all those wondering why this place is called “Nehru Kund”, well the reason is that Jawarharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India used to drink water from this spring when he stayed in Mannali; so it has been named after him. It is said that the water of this spring comes from Bhigru lake which is situated in Kullu district at about 4,300 meters above sea level. For all those you selfie freaks, this is the place where you want to be.

Well these are my top picks when we are talking about places you should visit in Kullu Manali. There are many other places which you can visit here; it is not possible for me to mention all of them here. Tibetan Monasteries, Parvati Valley, Manu Temple, Beas Kund and Naggar Village are definitely worth a mention and I would recommend you to visit all these places if you have adequate time when you visit Kullu Manali.
