Temghar Dam is situated at around 45 km from Pune towards Lavasa near Mulshi village and around 18 km from village Pirgunt. On the way to Lavasa, these small villages like Mulshi, Pirgunt adds more beauty to the Temghar Dam. Mulshi is one of the beautiful and widely visited place nearby which offers stunning views of mountains, nature and beautiful waterfalls. Another most visited place here is Lavasa which is most widely visited by tourists mostly during monsoon. Rain and cool breezes makes the visit priceless. Monsoon adds cosiness to this place and hence it attracts lots of tourists especially couples to visit these pretty places.

Temghar Dam is a Gravity and an Earth-fill dam which is built on the evergreen Mutha river close to Mulshi river in the Pune district of Maharashtra, India. The dam which was opened in the year of 2001 is 42.5 m high and 1075 m long. Though the dam is not as big as the one at Khadakwasla or Panshet, it is worth a visit mainly during monsoon season. The major purpose of the Temghar Dam is the irrigation to nearby areas and hence it acts as a main source of water supply to the nearby places of Pune city.

The best time to visit Temghar Dam is during Monsoon. One can go for a picnic or even for a camping near dam with your family, friends and even solo. The place is perfectly safe to visit for solo travellers. There are many food stalls along the road which satisfies your taste buds. The one famous thing near the dam is Bhutta (Corn) along with “garam garam chai“.

Nearest airport to reach to Temghar Dam is Pune airport and nearest railway station is Pune as well. While travelling by bus, one can go for Lavasa or Mulshi. Whereas, travelling with your own vehicle is best recommended here so that you can stop at the scenic places and get yourself clicked.
