Oysters Water Park – India’s Popular Amusement Park In Appu Ghar, Gurgaon

Oyster water park is India’s most popular amusement park, by the Appu Ghar Group. It was established in April 2014 over an area of 42 acres. Located in Gurgaon, it comprises of 15 water rides and with banquet facilities up to 2000 guests.

The name Appu Ghar originated from the 1982 Asian Games mascot Appu, the elephant. Appu Ghar Group has been the pioneer in setting up other amusement parks in Noida and Jaipur.

The park is opened from Monday to Sunday 11 AM to 7 PM. The nearest metro station is Huda City. The nearest railway station is Gurgaon station, about 9.1 km from the park. The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport, 15.4 km from the park. Several buses also operate within the city to the park. You can also avail a cab or ride your own car to reach the park.

The Rides

The Tallest Water Ride of India


The parks proudly hosts Skyfall, the tallest water ride of India, rising to a height of 90 feet. Listed in the Limca Book of Records 2014, the high and steep ride operates at a velocity of 60 km per hour in 5 seconds. The riders boarded in a cabin are lifted to the topmost point of the ride. At a countdown of 3, the trap door opens dropping down with lightning speed and splashing into a water pool. The riders enjoy drowning and swaying their feet inside the gushing water.

Accompanied with the Thrilling Water Rides

You can enjoy a stimulating experience of being twisted and turned like a whirlwind aboard the raft in the Open Float Slide. Coupled with it is the Aqua Loop. It also known as Oh my Gurgaon because of its thrilling ride experience from a height of 66 feet and speed of 60 km per hour. It then loops around the water slide and holding on to 2.5 gravity of acceleration for 2 seconds, it stops with a thundering halt. The ride attracts visitors of all ages.

The major attraction of Oyster park is the Crazy river, the long water coaster ride. The ride offers a fun-filled amusement with the bumps and the turns.

There are about 16 platforms in the Play station. Also known as the Pirate Station, with variant water rides and a water pool.

The other two scintillating rides inside the park premises are the Rapid Racer and the Thunderstorm. The Rapid Racer comprises of 4 water lanes where the riders can race against each other. It is a high-speed mat racer providing an electrifying experience to the racers as they glide along the lanes. The Thunderstorm is a unique water slide enchanting the visitors with its intensifying twists, turns and floats.

After a day full of adventure and thrill, if you want to enjoy a serene and tranquil experience then float along the Lazy River down the quiet water pool. And if you really want to swim along the waters then do not miss out the Wave Pool. The pool offers a delightful experience of an artificial sea with its large undulating waves.

The other rides which attract the visitors are the Cruiser and the Torpedo.

A Dancing and Musical experience 

A dazzling and interactive water fountain entertains the guests with its spray water jets and melodious music. A fountain with water jets synchronizes and tunes to the musical notes of a keyboard. Water spray jets are triggered in a fashion so as to strike the correct melodious chord, soothing the visitors with the rhythmic beats. If you want to shake your legs along with some rocking music and showering rain waters then do not forget to visit the Monsoon Mania, a perfect entertainment zone in the park.

The Eateries

The visitors spend almost the whole day inside the park. There are many food joints and food court inside the park offering multiple cuisine options to the riders.

The Crazy River food court hosts several cuisines, Indian, Oriental, and seafood. Cocktails and mocktails are also available in varied tastes.

A ship-themed restaurant, Low Tide Buffet Restro, is located on the Wave Pool. It also hosts different varieties of cuisines Italian, Asian, Chinese, North India and Continental along with the drinks.

For the typical North Indian dishes of rice, chana, rajma, kadhi and many more, the best place is Rice in the Bowl. The Oysters Bread Co. stocks some of the English and American snacks like cakes, bread, desserts, muffins, and tarts. A special food joint for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dumplings, called Dimsum Cart is also present in the park. There are also two bars and grills inside the park, Hi-Tide Bar and Liquid Dukan.

For the people of Gurgaon and Noida, the park is a perfect destination for a weekend getaway. For the visitors of Delhi, Appu Ghar occupies an exclusive place in their itinerary.
