When we are talking about a country like India, it is no secret that India has many exotic and adventurous places to hang around. In India, you would find three types of people. Enthusiastic, adventurous and the risk taker. Enthusiastic travelers are those travelers who like to explore; explore as in see new places, visit them and spend time there; eat local and similar stuff. Adventurous travelers are those travelers who visit a particular place to try the sport activities or activities, which they find to be dangerous for them and try to get their entertainment by trying them. Sport activities might refer to sky diving, scuba diving, river rafting and similar activities. Then comes the risk takers, these people are the most dangerous travelers since they are ultra-adventurous and visit places with high altitude or may be even places, which are considered to be dangerous for whatsoever reason.
Like, I mentioned at the beginning that India has many exotic and adventurous places but it also has many dangerous vacation destinations, which is not made for the weak hearted. Therefore, I am writing this article for all you risk takers out there, I would be telling you about the 10 most dangerous vacation destinations in India; so if you think that you are daredevil enough then you can think of trying them.

Dras is located about 60 kilometers away from Kargil, and is widely popular as the gateway to Ladakh. For all those of you didn’t know this that is the coldest inhabitable area in India and the second coldest inhabitable area in the world after Siberia. Dras came into limelight in the year 1999 at the time of Kargil war; as a matter of fact it is famous for being one of the spots which was attacked during the Kargil war. It is a militancy area and if you are lucky enough not to get shot down by a military incursion then you have to deal with hypothermia. All these facts has made Dras attain the top spot in the list of 10 most dangerous vacation destinations in India.
2. Thar Desert
Thar Desert lies mostly in Rajasthan but also spreads into a few areas of Punjab, Haryana and Rann of Kutch in Gujrat. This desert also covers a portion of Sindh and Pakistan as well. If you are planning to visit this place make sure you go for their Camel Safari; because it is seriously a once in a life time experience. Jaisalmer has a huge collection of fossils; and some fossils of Dinosaurs are nearly 6 million years old. The things I mentioned above was for the enthusiastic travelers, now coming onto the main material so as to why this place is dangerous. Saw scaled viper, black cobra, rat snake, wild cats, sand boa are a few things which you would also be seeing if you visit this desert; apart from this the dry and arid conditions raises the stake of difficulties even if you are well supplied with food and water. 3. Khardunga La
The third place to make it to the list of 10 most dangerous vacation destinations in India is Khardunga La. Khardunga La is located at an elevation of 5,359 meters above sea level and is a narrow dirt road which was built to reach the pass which was built in 1976; it opened to motor vehicles in 1988 and is the world’s highest motorable road. It is a three hour drive from Leh, the winding roads, direct sunlight, high altitude pile up to give your stomachs the worst experience. Sometimes, things go beyond tummy problems; let’s just hope that this doesn’t happens with you. The oxygen available here is also very low so make sure you think twice before visiting this place.

4. Pamban Bridge
Pamban Bridge is a railway bridge which connects the town of Rameshwaram to main land India. It was opened on 24th February 1914 making it over a 100 years old. Pamban Bridge is actually a route over sea; excited? Well you must know this that it has a mechanism which allows ships to pass underneath which requires 12 people to manually pull levers in order to change the ascent. Moreover, this bridge is more than a 100 years old making it even more dangerous to travel through. All these dangerous facts has made Pamban Bridge attain the 4th position in the list of 10 most dangerous vacation destinations in India.

5. Siju Bridge
The 5th place to make it to the list of 10 most dangerous vacation destination is Siju Bridge. It is located in Meghalaya and is home to one of the most dangerous hanging bridges in India and mysterious limelight caves. For people who have a problem with height or are scared of heights it is highly recommended that you avoid going to this particular place. It is tethered high in the mountains between two hills and the bridge is made of gnawed rope and chipping wood making you think a million times about whether or not you should travel through this particular bridge.

6. Chambal Valley
Chambal Valley is located in Central India and is known to be a like a home ground for India’s most dangerous and wanted Dakoos. Steep ravines, a huge river as a water source and plenty of caves make this place a very big threat for each and every person who plans on visiting this. Chambal valley has been infamous since many decades due to reasons like robbery, murder and similar reasons; it is considered to be a breeding ground for Dacoits. 7. Hemis National Park

It is a high altitude national park which is situated in the eastern Ladakh region in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is considered to have the largest population of snow leopards of any protected area in the world. The temperature here is below 20 degree Celsius and the rough terrain of Ladakh is another challenge which you need to face in order to reach here.

8. Gurez Valley
Well you seriously require a lot of guts if you want to reach Gurez Valley. It is located 120 kilometers away from Srinagar and is situated right below the line of control. Close proximity has impacted the people in a bad way with reports of landmines blowing people’s legs off. Gurez Valley is prone to avalanche and it was once reported that it had experienced 80 avalanches in 3 days. All these facts has made Gurez Valley attain the 8th position in the list of 10 most dangerous vacation destinations in India.

9. Bhangarh Fort
Do not believe in paranormal activities? Well then you must definitely visit Bhangarh Fort once in your lifetime. Bhangarh Fort is popular for its external beauty and its haunted interiors. People live on the outskirts of the fort due to fear of spirits and even the fort is closed for visitors at night due to early abductions and death of thrill seekers. Some people are known to have lost their minds due to fear in the fort. All these facts have lead to Bhangarh Fort attaining the 9th position in the list of 10 most dangerous vacation destinations in India.

Kuldhara used to be a happening village in Rajasthan about 300 years ago with a large population and good relations with it’s neighbors. Now, it is more like a ghost down which has been untouched since years; if you visit this place you will notice a strange silence which makes you feel ill at ease. Some people say that in 1825, the people of Kuldhara and the neighboring villages disappeared and were never seen again.
