Without any doubt or second thought, the Dal Lake is on number one on this list. Set in the magical lands of Kashmir, the Dal Lake is absolutely chilling, and remains frozen during the winters. One can witness winter sports right here, so if you like snow skiing and snow-skating this is the right place to hit. The Dal Lake is a pride of Kashmir, this is because it adds this enchanting bit of beauty to the the heavenly place ‘Kashmir’. The Dal Lake is also considered to be the precious Jewel in the crown of Kashmir.

2. Roopkund Lake

Roopkund Lake is also pretty popular as the Skeleton Lake or the Mystery Lake. This lake offers views which are totally splendid and quaint. Located in the beautiful state of Uttarakhand, the Roopkund Lake attracts end number of tourist from across the globe. The Roopkund lake is set amidst the beautiful Himalayan ranges, surrounded by virgin forests, beautiful snow capped mountains and. It has many campsites which is one of the major activities that attract thousands of tourists every year.

3. Pangong Lake

The Pangond Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the entire country. One interesting thing about this lake is that it offers the experience of seeing 7 different colours of the pristine blue water standing a one single point near the lake. This is one perfect destination for all those who love nature. This lake is located at a distance of around 160 kilometres from Leh Ladakh. It is very popular or its mesmerizing views which one can view from different angles.

4. Gurudongmar Lake

Gurudongmar Lake in located in Sikkim, this is one another enthralling place for all those who love nature. Apart from being immensely beautiful this place also holds sacred importance in the hearts of the Buddhists and Hindus. The lake is named after Guru Dongmar. One more interesting fact to add is that this lake is the second highest lake in the country after the Cholamu Lake.

Set in the Kullu Valley the Prashar Lake is surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains and is a treat to one’s eyes. During the winter season, the area around the lake is covered with sacks of snow and the lake is totally frozen.

6. Cholamu Lake

Located in the beautiful state of Sikkin the Cholamu Lake is the highest fresh water lake in India. This lake is also ranked at the 14th position as the world’s highest fresh water lake. The Cholamu Lake is considered to be a majestic wonder due to the reflection of the surrounding mountains and the flock of the beautiful birds.

Located in Rupshu Valley, Ladakh the Tsomoriri Lake is a true example of miraculous Mother India. There is a magic in this lake which will instantly make you fall in love with it. The special feature about this lake is the reflection of the water which is multi-shade in colour. The lake lures and attracts nature lovers from all across the globe. The lake is surrounded by beautiful mountains, abrupt valleys and peaceful lakes.
