Beaches are among the few places where every other person wants to hangout. Well the reason behind beaches being one of the best hangout places is that one can easily spend quality time with their near and dear ones with food, fresh air and the feeling of peace. Goa stands as the most popular destination when it comes to partying at beaches in India; but many still do not know much about Vishakhapatnam (also known as Vizag).

If you have visited Goa, then you will realize that it is definitely a must place to visit at least once in a lifetime. But again if you love crowded places then Goa is the right choice; on the other hand Vizag happens to be a place where you can party and at the same time it is less crowded than beaches in Goa. So if you like a bit of space, Vishakhapatnam has so much for you.

1. Rama Krishna Beach

The first beach which comes to my mind when I talk about Vizag is RK Beach better known as Rama Krishna Beach. The beach attracts a lot of tourism due to well maintenance of beaches and parks. It is called the heart of Vizag due to intense attraction of tourism and is the most recommended beach for pursuing activities like sun bath and swimming.

2. Gangavaram Beach

Gangavaram Beach is located on the south of Vizag and is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches out of the many which Vizag possesses. The beach is extremely beautiful to watch and has been captured by many Indian film makers. It is located around Vishakhapatnam steel plant.

3. Rishikonda Beach

Love doing water skies and swimming? This is exactly the beach which you are looking for. It is located at about 8kms away from Vizag and is well known for its cleanliness and well maintenance. If you are a foodie and you are worried whether you would get good food or not, then don’t worry! Rishikonda has enough food joints to satisfy your tummy with yummy food.

4. Palm Beach

This is the best place for all those people who do not enjoy crowded places. It is also known as Taraka Rama Park and is quieter when compared to other beaches in Vishakhapatnam. One of the best thing is that if you do not wish to spend time in the beach then there is a large green area where you can go for a picnic and spent good times with your near and dear ones.

5. Sagar Nagar

If you search on google about the best beaches in Vishakhapatnam, then you are going to find a lot of information about Yarada Beach or RK Beach but Sagar Nagar is among the few which many people don’t know about. The beach is very clean though due to safety concerns it is advised not to go deep. If you are planning to visit here, make sure you watch the sunset from this beach.

6. Bheemunipatnam Beach

Bheemunipatnam Beach is widely known as “Bheemli”. It is 24kms away from Vizag; and is located at the mouth of Gosthani river. The beach is perfect for swimming but has a big drawback. The drawback is that there aren’t proper facilities for food and water; that is the reason it is less popular than RK Beach.

7. Yarada Beach

This road to the beach have mixed responses; some find it extremely beautiful and suggest you to go by car so as to enjoy the beautiful views while some say that the road is pretty rough is not enjoyable. The beach on the other hand stands tall with positive reviews; it is loved and recommended by all.

8. Lawson’s Bay Beach

Lawson’s Beach is also known as Peddawaltair Beach; if you love surfing and sea bathing then this is the place where you want to be because it is perfect for both of the activities. It is located a little ahead of RK Beach on the way to Kailasagari hill. It is very beautiful and is less crowded when compared to other beaches in Vizag.

9. Tenneti Beach

Tenneti Beach is named after the famous legendary freedom fighter Tenneti Vishwandham. The best part about this beach is that you won’t face any conveyance problems reaching here as because it is well connected with buses and other convenient transports. Make sure you visit the park located near the beach; it is famous for magnificent views.
